 The Adventures Of Astral Pirates

For the past few months I've been stuck on the 1978 album "The Adventures Of Astral Pirates" by Lenny White.

Lenny White is best remembered as the drummer for Chick Corea's Return To Forever (more on them in a later thread).

"Astral Pirates" is a fantastic album. I'm totally hooked on Lenny White's percussive prowess. Another standout is Alex Blake's great rhythmic bass lines which accent White's drums to perfection. Since I happen to be a big fan of a good guitar riff - I am also very much impressed with the sometimes experimental guitar work on this album.

All around "The Adventures Of Astral Pirates" is one of the most exciting albums ever released. I put in the category of "classic".

Any other thoughts on this album?
